In a spectacular celebration of a half-century of gridiron excellence, the annual Bayou Classic football game between Southern and Grambling State universities is hitting the road with a bang, and the party is coming to Donaldsonville! The Bayou Classic Road Show promises to bring the thrill and joy of this iconic HBCU football classic across Louisiana and significant cities in the Southern U.S. over the coming months.
This family-friendly, absolutely free event will unfold this Sunday, October 29, from 2:30 to 5:30 p.m. at the Lemann Memorial Center, 1100 Clay St. Expect a high-energy atmosphere with music, games, and fantastic giveaways. The showstopper? A colossal 25-foot RV decked out to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the largest HBCU football classic in the nation. Also, the Mayor of Donaldsonville, Leroy Sullivan, will be honored with a special 50th-anniversary Bayou Classic football. This unique piece has been crafted specifically for this landmark year.
The Bayou Classic Road Show is proudly sponsored by AT&T and backed by The Louisiana Office of Tourism, the Louisiana Office of Culture, Recreation & Tourism, and the enthusiastic support of Lt. Gov.
