Mayor Broome Addresses Rise in COVID-19 Cases

Baton Rouge, LA – March 20, 2020 – In the coming days, East Baton Rouge Parish may have a noticeable increase in positive COVID-19 test results. This does not indicate a rapid spread of the virus, but is a direct result of the increase in testing.

The Surgeon General and Governor John Bel Edwards have stated the next two weeks are critical for slowing the spread of COVID-19.

It is important for people to remain calm as the number of confirmed cases begins to rise, and continue to practice social distancing and good hygiene.
